Carlow are the visitors to CPL Park this Sunday   21/11/2016

Match Preview: 27/11/16 Leinster League Division 2A Longford v Carlow

Longford will be welcoming Carlow to CPL Park this Sunday for a game that will have significant influence in the final shake up of Leinster League Division 2A. The seconds team also face a tough clash as the Carlow side's seconds are doing well in contesting their division.

Carlow are in joint second place, three points behind Longford's Performance side in Division 2A. Longford will be looking for the win to keep promotion hopes going as they head into the Christmas break.

The home side do not have a good record against the men from Carlow over the years. With the top spot on the line there is sure to be a good deal of spice in this encounter.

In Carlow's last outing they made it four wins from six games dispatching bottom of the table Newbridge in Oakpark. Carlow boast a powerful scrum that they will be hoping to put the Longford eight, who have been strong at the set piece, under pressure. Kicker Peter Hennessy has been consistently kicking well in the early outings of the season and Longford will be hoping to show the discipline that has been the hallmark of their play to prevent handing him any easy points.

Longford will look to maintain the level of performance that has guided them tot he top. Portarlington make their way to CPL park the following weekend.
