Longford U18s through to Leinster Cup Final   23/04/2018

Longford U18’s reached the Darcy cup final following a high scoring encounter with Cill Dara on Sunday. The Longford lads had to work hard for their victory with the Kildare team leading by 3 points with only 10 minutes left on the clock but tries from Dylan Smith and Paddy Duggan in the closing minutes earned the team a crack at Boyne. The Louth team overcame Naas in the other semi.

Longford have got to the final the hard way having beaten Portarlington followed by tough wins over Premier Division opponents in Enniscorthy/Wexford, Wicklow and Cill Dara. The squad of 24 have worked hard and improved week by week. Captain Packie Molloy and his men will enter the final as underdogs and will know that they will need to produce their best performance if they are to have a chance of lifting their second piece of silverware having captured the Division 1 Leinster crown.

The final will take place next Saturday v Naas, all support would be appreciated.
