Longford back in league action v Suttonians this Sunday at home   31/10/2017

Suttonians Rugby Football Club have had a bit of a tumble in recent seasons. Three years ago hey plied their trade in the AIL, but now their Senior men's first XV team plays in Division 1B of the Leinster League.

Their clubhouse and grounds are based at the JJ McDowell Memorial Grounds on Station Road, Sutton, Fingal. They have serious depth, fielding five senior sides. This year they appear to have turned their fortunes around, with the only defeat of the season so far at the hands of Tullow. The Carlow side occupy the league table second spot, behind Longford by the narrowest of margins.

Suttonians have one of the most dynamic and abrasive back lines in the division. Longford will have a lot to think about of as they welcome the Dubliner's to CPL Park.

The pedigree of Suttonians is impressive, established in 1899, they ascended to AIL in 1997. The reputation, along with some impressive island imports, will be at the forefront of the minds of coaches Niall Moran and Glenn Baskett as they look to steer Longford to another win and maintain the impressive run of form.

Home advantage may play a part and it is hoped a large crew will gather at CPL Park next Sunday.

Please note that due to the clocks going forward that the match kick offs have changed:

The Development XV will kick off at 1 PM while the Performance XV will kick off at 2.30 PM.
